Comment by Mads August 14, 2007 @ 05:54Torben- Great blog. I also collect good and bad packages and products, but thought you might find this CD case I’ve developed interesting.
Someday, all music and video will be distributed electronically, but until then, we are inundated under a mountain of those fragile CD “jewel” cases.
I’ve designed an all cardboard CD case that is easy to recycle and lighter than plastic- thus cheaper to ship and reuse. The key insight was to realize, that while cardboard may not be tough enough to latch the case closed, the CD itself can double as the strike. This allows the case to be made entirely of paper or wood, to match the size and shape of plastic cases so it still fits in your storage rack, and brings a bit of magic to a package we love to hate. Hello,
I am interested in your consulting for a good critique on packaging on a product I plan to release into the market this quarter. Would you be interested in doing this for me, and what are your rates?
Thanks,
Joe
